A library for agriculture

Public libraries contribute to rural development and here is just one of the many examples showing how small services end up having a big impact. In Avrig, Romania, the regional Assosciation of Animal Breeders was founded in none other than the local library.

It is also here that animal breeders receives assistance with filling out electronic applications for agricultural subsidies. Marius Badea, Chair of the Regional Association of Animal Breeders in Avrig, Romania, explains why his local library is an invaluable resource for him and his colleagues. By offering both the facilities and the information they need to discuss and apply for agricultural subsidies, the library bridges a crucial gap. “Information is the most valuable element”, Marius says.
