Launched by the European Commission at the end of 2016, the Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition (DSJC) is a multi-stakeholder partnership which brings together NGOs, social partners, industry and member states "to help meet the high demand for digital skills in Europe which are essential in today's digital society and economy".
Europe's 65,000 public libraries already contribute a great deal in terms of offering internet access to users, but also going further and delivering non-formal and informal digital skills courses, from basic ICT skills to coding and robotics. According to a recent study commissioned by the European Commission, approximately 30% of the EU's e-inclusion actors are public libraries.
As a member of the Coalition, PL2020 has endorsed the the objectives of the DSJC in boosting digital skills in Europe. You can find out more about the project here - and we'll keep you posted on upcoming initiatives.
